Reading
and Language Arts: This week, we will begin to wrap up our study of
fairy tales. We will begin the week by finishing our comparison of 3 different
versions of The Three Little Pigs. With each version, we have looked at the
story elements, theme and point of view. On Wednesday, Miss G. will come
introduce our fairy tale project which we will work on for about a week.
Students will be flipping a common version of a fairy tale and retelling it
from another character’s point of view! **Students should be reading at least
20 minutes for homework every night!
Grammar: We will
begin reviewing nouns this week. After a quick review, we will be working on
making connections between common and proper nouns and sorting words into those
two categories.
Writing: This
week in writing, students will continue writing about fall. We will finish
going through the writing process and by the end of the week each student will
have a final draft of this writing piece!
Science: We will
wrap up our study of force and motion this week. Watch for a study guide to
come home tomorrow for the test on Friday. Please help your child review this
study guide, as there are lots of vocabulary words and concepts that have been
introduced during this unit!
Math: This week we will be testing over
10’s, 3’s, 0’s and 1’s. We will then be switching groups for our next unit. Up
