About Mrs. Freckelton

Welcome to 3F!! I'm so glad you're a part of my class this year!

I was born in Wheaton and lived here for a few years before moving to West Chicago, where I still live. I have a younger sister named Sarah. Most of my extended family lives around here, but some of them live in other states like Ohio, Iowa and Indiana.

I attended Wheaton Christian Grammar School from Kindergarten to 8th grade and then went to Wheaton Academy for high school. After high school I went to Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Maybe some of you have visited Olivet to watch the Bears practice during their training camp! The best part of college was meeting some new lifelong friends AND learning how to do the best job in the world...be a teacher! :-) Towards the end of college I moved back home to student teach at Longfellow Elementary School in Wheaton. I helped teach 4th grade and learned a lot more about teaching and student learning.

After I graduated from Olivet, I worked in District 200 as a substitute teacher. The next year, I was hired to be an aide at Lowell in Ms. Carlson's fourth grade class. I loved Lowell so much that I wanted to stay forever! Luckily, a spot in third grade opened up last year and I was hired for my dream job of teaching third grade! I'm so excited to be starting my second year here at Lowell. I love all of the teachers and students who walk through the Lowell doors. My favorite part of teaching is watching all of my students learn and use new things!

Right now, I am working toward my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an endorsement in English as a Second Language. That means I'm not just a teacher...I'm a student too!

This summer I got married, moved into a new house, visited Mickey, Minnie and some of their friends in Disney World and spent lots of time playing with my baby nephew!

I can't wait to get to know you and show you lots of fun things in 3rd grade! We will have a great  year!
