Week
of: February 1, 2016
Reading and Language Arts: Our focus this week will
continue to be questioning. Students are getting really good at asking
questions while reading a variety of passages.
Keep in mind, when a reader asks questions, it helps them to better
understand the text. **Students should be reading at least 25 minutes for
homework every night!
Grammar: We will begin working on
adverbs. Help your child begin to use adverbs at home to make their stories
more exciting! J
Writing: This week in writing, we
will be choosing a planet and researching to find information about it. We will
be using this information in the coming weeks to write an informational paper
AND create a presentation about our planets!
Science: This week we will be
continuing our study of planets.
Math: This week concludes
fractions. We will finish up and review some fraction concepts and test on
Wednesday. Graphing is up next! J
