Newsletter--Week of 2/8

News from 3P
Week of: February 8, 2016

Reading and Language Arts: Our focus this week will continue to be questioning. Along with that, students will also be working (with other 3rd grade students) on theme and story elements of similar stories. Please ask your child about the story their class is reading and what the theme/moral is of the story. **Students should be reading at least 20 minutes for homework every night!

Grammar: We will continue to work on adverbs. We will also be working on reviewing some previous grammar lessons.

Writing: This week in writing, we will be finishing up our planet papers. Students will then take the information they have gathered and start to put together a presentation that they will do in front of the class. Our focus will be presentation skills and good listening skills.

Science: This week we will finish up our study of planets.  Test on Thursday. Items are coming home today to study. J

Math: This week we will continue working on graphing, specifically bar graphs, pictographs, and line plots. Help your student watch for graphs and see how they are used in real life!
