Week
of: April 11, 2016
Reading and Language Arts: This week students will continue
to look at different types of narrative stories and work with nonfiction short
passages with comparing/contrasting. **Students should be reading at least 25 minutes
for homework every night!
Writing: This week in writing, we
will be choosing another narrative topic and be putting all our pieces together
to write our own stories!
Science: This week we will continue
to study rocks. We will review the difference between a rock and a mineral and
also the 3 types of rocks: igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary. We will then
move in to the study of minerals and their properties.
Math: We will continue with
geometry this week. This week students will be adding to their geometry
dictionaries to help with the shapes we are studying. We will focus on
quadrilaterals and then review all the shapes.
